Travel Clinics Australia – Matraville has been an associate member of the Travel Clinics Australia group since 2001. The group is the largest provider of travel medicine services in Australia with over 50 clinics nationally!
The Travel Clinic is run by our Nurse Practitioner who works in collaboration with a general practitioner.
Danielle Peel
Nurse Practitioner
Danielle Peel is a Nurse Practitioner, who has been specialising in Travel Medicine for more than 15 years, starting this branch of the Travel Clinics Australia group with Dr Jerry Schwartz in 2001. In the travel clinic you will consult with Danielle Peel for all your appointments.
Danielle has post graduate qualifications in Travel Medicine from James Cook University in Townsville. In 2014 she became one of very few Nurses to sit and pass the Certificate of Travel Health examination held by the International Society of Travel Medicine. She was awarded the MASTA medal for academic excellence in 2014.
Danielle’s other interests are in women’s health and sexual health, with a strong focus on contraception options for women of all ages and screening for STI in at-risk populations.
Dr Jerry Schwartz
General Practitioner
Dr Jerry Schwartz has a special interest in Travel Medicine. Together with Danielle, they started Travel Clinics Australia – Matraville in 2001.
Jerry has post graduate qualifications in Ophthalmology and Family Medicine and is a fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgeons
Jerry’s other interests are in cosmetic aesthetics, stem cell technology and research. He is heavily involved in charity work and family life.
